 Happy 2 years Birthday!
A lot has changed over the years. Your eating habits, sleep patterns, social behavior, characteristics, etc. Sometimes, I wonder where my little baby disappeared to. The kid I now have are loud, opinionated, stubborn and high-strung. It doesn’t mean that you are less loving or adorable. In a way, I’m glad that you are evolving into your personality and can no longer be clubbed as just ‘baby’.

Dear Baby Boy,
Its been quite some time now that I wanted to talk to you.
There is so much you seem to be doing these days, that its getting difficult keeping track of them all.
There is so much to ask you. To find out what all is going on in that little brain of yours. What makes you do what you do.What makes us fall in love with all those little actions, childish at the surface, and yet , far more mature in their content.

You , my baby, are everything I ever wanted in a boy and more. You are smart, funny, you have a dazzling smile which gives you an all new radiance . You are bright, intelligent, loving. You make the least fuss sleep time. When you get up in the morning and smile at me, it feels as if my heart will burst with pleasure. I cannot recollect what life was like, before you came into it.
Weekend Updates

The weekend started with leaving early from work on Friday to do some house cleaning before baby boy comes home from his day care. Sat morning was blissful with getting some time with baby boy before we head out to DC to meet some Friends for brunch. As luck would have it we did not anticipate the DC traffic and ended 30 mins late. In a rush to get to the brunch place we ended up parking in a private parking area and got a volition sticker on the car, thank god for small mercies in this case a big mercy that the car was not towed yet. back to the brunch which was awesome with some good Friends. One of whom had her baby boy . After brunch we decided to take the kids to a park which was 3 blocks away. My baby boy surprised we by walking the 3 blocks plus the area in the park to get to the play area. I was concerned that his legs would pain but he showed great spirit and did not want to be held. In fact we did not even want to wait for the signals to turn green and insisted on walking through traffic. The boy had a great time playing the in sand and showed no signs of sleepiness. Finally by 2:30 we decided to leave and again baby boy walked all the way back. By the end he was cranky and tired. We saw the volition sticker and ran out before the towing car could come. The rest of the day was spend playing and relaxing at home. The next day on Sunday we had a baby boy's buddy from day care coming over with his parents for lunch. The kids were surprised on seeing each other on a weekend and did not show any signs of knowing each other at first. But as time passed they started interacting and it was cute to him them together. The most surprising part of the lunch was when you showed usual interest in eating raw onion with salt and lemon that was kept aside for topping on pav bhaji. This was followed by a much needed nap and some play time in the evening. Since it is cold in the evening baby boy preferred to run around in the house then go out.

I’ve been kissed.

Finally.
And not just as a peck or  touching of lips.
It was a full blown smackarooney  :D
And just in case you are wondering (repeat, in case), I’m talking about Shaunie, my baby boy!
He finally gave me that very lovely kiss of his that I’ve been craving for since ages.
He was benevolent enough yesterday to bestow his father with the same.
To say we were gratified, would be putting it mildly. We were on CLOUD 9. Yup, right up there with the Stars and Sun and moon and what-not!!
After months of cajoling and pleading him to kiss us, he finally caved in yesterday and smacked us crazy.
:D

Dear Shaunie

I just wanted to note down a few things that you have been upto in the last few days
You have been talking up a storm. But unfortunately i can understand only a few words.
I love it when you say mama or mummy. you always say it in pair mama- mama or mummy mummmyyyyyyy.
I love when you look at me and give me the biggest smile.
Your favorite words these days are open and on. You are always asking to open everything or turn things on.
Your favorite character in elmo whom you call aame.
You are a big miser when it comes to giving kisses
I love it when you are in a good mood in the morning and say byeee to me.
You are a very polite boy , who say k ku meaning thank you for everything.
You are very shy by nature and don't interact much with strangers. You won't respond to questions and sing songs when asked. But when you are by yourself you will be singing or talking all the time.
You are the center of our world and your mommy and daddy love you a lot.

That's all I have right now

It is futile to teach kids about honesty. All kids are born honest. Brutally honest :|
What is difficult to teach, is tact. To teach how to sugar-coat the truth. To beat around the bush!

Prefect long weekend

Before giving birth to S long weekend were filled with late night parties , traveling to different places, hiking, long drives and endless eating out.
But this weekend 9/3/2012 was the perfect long weekend it started with me waking up and having S jump around in our bed. he pulls my pillows and all the pillows on the bed to make himself comfortable. Then he opens Ab's night side table and dumps all the cd;s out. then there is endless moving of the cd's from one side of the bed to another.this adorable business goes on for quiet some time. What a perfect way to wake up to your baby running around on your bed. This was followed by some more play time with S in the living room followed by lunch and nap time. It is so awesome to cuddle up to your little one during nap. S is so shy that every time i look at him he looks the other way and smiles.oh...if smile could kill i would be dead. he hugs his elmo whom he calls "aamy" and goes off to sleep. 2 hours later he wakes up in a awful mood and then there is some non stop crying till he all get ready and off we go shopping to Tyson's corner.
Shopping is heaven that i hardly get to experience since S was born but thanks to my lovely hubby we took turns in the play area with S and were able to enjoy some good retail therapy.
The night ended with a to go from kabab place and skinny margarita at home.
The next day was rinse and repeat except this time we had baby K and family come over in the evening. S was so shy as usual and did not leave my lap for a good hour, but baby K was adorable in playing around and being a daddy's girl. Which got me thinking is S a mama's boy :) why not ...i love him being my boy ;)
Baby K was so cute and decided to give kisses to shy and shocked S.
The next day we just decided to hang at home and enjoy the time with S , in the evening we took him to the community pool. He was playing around and being stubborn and drinking the horrible pool water. Then suddenly he went under the water for a brief moment.... life in me was drained, i pulled him out immediately and was happy to know that he was fine and happy to go back in the water.
Phew...can;t take my eyes off this boy for a second !
Rest of the night was a breeze...went home...made chicken curry...gave S his dinner...then AB gave him a bath and put him to sleep after reading him some books.
All in all this was a prefect weekend...of lots of hugs from S, hangin out with AB, cooking and eating out, shopping and meeting frnds :) could not have a asked for a better life
Things I don't want to forget

The way shaun hugs me
The way shaun feeds me
The way shaun screams if anyone yells at me.
The way shaun runs behind AB to play ball.

The first few words shaun said - 6/20/2012

Remedy for Summer Skin Aliments
FOR OILY SKIN> Even if your skin is very oily in summer, don’t discontinue the use of sunscreen. Use a gel-based sunscreen instead of your regular cream-based sunblock.
> Apply fresh, cooled cucumber paste to the skin and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.
> Wash your face at least two to three times a day.
> Use a scrub once in 10 days, depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
> Aloe Vera gel is also an excellent coolant and moisturizer for oily skin.

IF YOU GET A TAN> Rub your face with ice cubes to close your pores to reduce breakouts. Ice also soothes burnt skin.
> Cool your palms by lightly rubbing them with ice cubes. Lightly massage skin with a gel (combination to oily skin) or cream (dry to normal skin).
> Use a mixture of honey, rosewater and lemon to get rid of a tan.
> A face pack of unboiled milk, turmeric and some lemon juice is effective for the face. You can also blend gram flour, lime juice and some curd to make a face pack.
> You can make herbal sunscreen at home by mixing sesame oil, almond oil and olive oil.
After thinking a million times I have finally decided to start a blog. This is a personal diary and just a way for me to note down the things I feel. I am a new mom of a 19.5 months baby boy and have been married for 6  years now.
